Continuing to today, the organized Amateur Radio community in Jamaican Amateur Radio consists of dedicated individuals who operate within historically created strict International guidelines and demonstrate a well-known politeness. Both the rest of the world and local leaders learned this storm produced a record amount of damage; damages were excess of traditional restoration sources. These storms have resulted in an analysis that has demonstrated the need to establish Jamaican network that provides full island communications. This source aided in providing the full-island repeater coverage. The purpose of this collaborative project is perfect for Amateur Radio operators. They supply supplemental surface weather data to the forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida.
